Lance Armstrong is probably the most famous cyclist in the world. In 1996, Lance was a world champion and had just won the US Road Race Championship. However, not long after getting the title, on October 2, 1996 he was sentenced to cancer.

At first, one morning, Lance coughed and coughed up blood. He felt something strange inside his pants. It turned out that one of his testicles swelled up to the size of an apple. After going to the doctor, it turned out that Lance was diagnosed with testicular cancer. The cancer was not at an early stage, but had spread to the lungs and brain.

Due to the severity of his cancer, Armstrong finally had to undergo surgery. An operation was immediately scheduled to save his life. The doctor said there was only a 50% chance of the operation being successful. But Lance still agreed even though the doctor later admitted that the chances were smaller than that.

After the operation was completed to remove all the tumors, treatment continued with chemotherapy. Throughout that time Lance, who usually cycled 20 km a day, tried to cycle again. However, he was no longer able to carry out his cycling activities as before, he could not even ride his bicycle to get around the hospital.

He underwent chemotherapy for one month and the results stated that Lance was 'cancer free'. He also restarted his training. This time something felt different. Especially when Lance tries the incline. He felt the movements were lighter and could cover them in less time. Turns out cancer gave him another gift. Her weight has decreased by 9 kg. Even though all this time Lance was famous for being weak on inclines because his weight was slightly below the ideal limit.

After recovering from cancer, Lance Armstrong continued his cycling activities and took part in the Bicycle Racing World Championship. In 1999 Lance Armstrong returned to the Tour de France and he won the championship! He also participated again in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and won all the championships!
